The soul of a person, spirit, and physical mind need to work in tandem with each other to be able to

yield to the Holy Spirit that God gives to His members to be able to discern and live life properly. 

Or else the mind will wonder off astray and then it has a chance to over due negative thoughts and emotions that is why one needs to take on the whole armor of God hence to yield and work in tandem with the Spirit of Truth (Holy Spirit).

Then...

Making decisions shouldn’t be hard when aligned with a clear mind that understands the Word of God.
